What can you say of a business that does not have a web or social media presence? Isn’t that’s a clear shot at little or no chances of success? Perhaps you have created a crowdfunding campaign and you are thinking about what next to do; in this post, our discussion will centre on how to successfully create awareness of your crowdfunding on social media.

Prior to this time, the world has experienced different industrial timelines. The first industrial revolution started towards the end of the 18th century [1765]. With this advent, there was a change in the industries – in the form of mechanization. This was the period of coal and locomotive engines (steam and water power). The second industrial revolution started at the end of the 19th century [1870]. The experiences included the emergence of new sources of energy (electricity, gas, oil); development of steel, chemical synthesis and new method of communication (telegraph and telephone); and most importantly, inventions of the automobile and the plane. The third industrial revolution [1969] impacted industries with the emergence of nuclear energy, computers, electronics, space expeditions, telecommunications, biotechnology, programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and robots. Industry 4.0 begun at the first light of the 21st century with the one thing that everybody uses every single day – THE INTERNET.

Yes, it’s the internet! And with it came social media. In today’s increasingly crowded digital and virtual world, promoting your crowdfunding campaign is essential. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram are platforms that will avail and provide the crowd that you need for visibility and donation. Have you launched your campaign? (That’s just the first step), you now need to promote the campaign well with much efforts. The question now is, “what exactly do we mean by promotion?”

Perhaps this may interest you – promotion does not have to necessitate a large amount of money. Thanks to social media because it is petty easier now to sell your cause and connect to people through clicks. Promoting that campaign of yours can range from

  1. Sharing on Twitter and Instagram
  2. Blog posts
  3. Facebook advertisements
  4. Website promotion
  5. Emails, and lots more.

Doing all of the above have their importance and roles in promoting your crowdfunding campaigns.

AjooNG’s Website

Ajoo.ng is a trusted and credible website that can welcome donors after promotions have been done on social media and other channels. It is for this reason that the homepage has been designed in such a way that it would communicate good impressions about the community. Any donor who lands on the website will get to know who Ajoo is, what we do and how s/he can donate in various ways. More importantly, they get to see the validation of your promoted crowdfunding campaign. So, it is always good to link ajoo.ng in all of your promotions.

Ajoo’s homepage is dedicated for our campaigners, so, you have no worries. We will always make a featured banner for people who use our platform for fundraising. These banners are graphical and textual. I’m addition, they carry a clear call to action (donation button and link). This flier may be used by campaigners during social media promotion. Furthermore, we encourage campaigner to create video and other multimedia. Even though it is optional, it is essential for a good social media promotion. The most important are photos that show the authenticity of your cause/crowdfunding campaign – ajoo.ng does not and will not support falsified campaigns.

Social Media Promotion

Social media ranks the number one tool to promote crowdfunding campaigns because it is the simplest, cost-effective and requires the least amount of time. However, it is not advisable to simply send out a Tweet and a Facebook post of your campaign and then call it a day. It doesn’t work that way, neither will it yield your desired result, because putting a post out there on social media does not automatically result in hundreds of donations.

AjooNG suggest these simple approaches as regards what to post, when to post, how to know if it’s working:

  • Develop a Consistent # (Hashtag) or Tagline for All Networks.
  1. Cling to 1–3 words which are user-friendly (easy to type, eye-catching, and unforgettable).
  2. Also use this hashtag or caption if going to post on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram for convenience and ease of search.
  • Content Should be Matched to the Proper Channel.
  1. If you have a large number of pictures or video clips, Instagram and Facebook are the best picks for your social plan.
  2. Consider Twitter for instant factual information, statistics, direct donation requests. However, don’t forget to include images! This is because tweets with pictures receive five times the amount of engagement as those without.
  • Do not Really Give the Gold Away on the Very First Day.
  1. Stretch out your messages very well across days and weeks, except if your campaign is only a few days long.
  2. Endeavor to create a narrative that appeals
  3. Do not run off. Keep up with the engagements.

In conclusion, take note that it is perfectly alright if something doesn’t work – it is now up to you to examine, analyze, optimize and improve until you figure out what works.
